Last weekend the DK0NA contest team took part in the IARU Region 1 VHF September Contest. We were happy about the weather which was cloudy with little rain but most of the time we stayed dry. On Friday we built up the second antenna and brought the equipment to the hill (Schwedenwache about 700m asl). Saturday gave us little rain and we had some difficulties with implementing the second transceiver at the beginning of the contest but after a few minutes everything went fine. Our impression was that the conditions and the participation of the radio amateurs who were QRV was good. So we were also happy to work little DX 😉 We had a lot fun and enjoyed contesting as a reliable team. Of course some good bottles of “Ahornberger” beer and BBQ from the local butcher helped us getting through the night 😉
Our setup was als following:
2x9ele DK7ZB + K3 + DB6NT Transverter
2x17ele F9FT + K3 + DB6NT Transverter
Claimed result: 832 QSOs, 282378 points, average distance 340 km
ODX: EA1RLE, IN73TA, 1464 km
